Meyer UM-1 Meyer01.jpg
(Quantity 4, 4 more under construction)
Refurbished Meyer UM-1A and 1C Stage Monitors
12 in. High-Power Two-Way
Full-Range Loudspeaker

The modified UM-1 combines the cabinet design and functionality of the Meyer UM-1 with the baffle of the Meyer UPA-1. Both designs utilize the same components and the same cabinet inner-volume, the only difference being the high-frequency horn. The components were taken from a Meyer UPA and housed in a new cabinet to be used as a stage wedge. This design is more functional for me than choosing either the UPA or the UM, because I get the monitor application of the UM combined with the high-frequency coverage of the UPA for main clustering. From the UPA specifications sheet: The loudspeaker "is designed to be operated as a system with the Meyer Sound M-1A Control Electronics Unit (one M-1A per channel). The M-1A comprises electronic crossover, Meyer Sound exclusive SpeakerSense™ driver protection circuitry, and amplitude and phase response alignment circuitry optimized for the loudspeaker.
" Once the cabinets are finished, these 8 loudspeakers can provide a professional stage-monitoring set-up with high gain before feedback and excellent clarity.
